Rum & Sugar
With locally sourced British produce and one of the most extensive selections of rum in the capital, this venue is ideal for a cocktail party – the bar staff concoct a pretty mean mojito, too. The quirky industrial interior and outside terrace all add to the appeal: where better to see the sun go down on the Docklands than at Rum & Sugar, a cocktail in hand?
You can hire the whole restaurant for a party with a fork buffet, barbecue or seated meal (inside or outside, it can accommodate 80 diners). Alternatively, you can just throw a fabulous drinks reception on the terrace for 100 or inside for 150, while we provide light bites or platters to whet your guests’ appetite.
Whether you hire just part of the restaurant or the entire venue, you can opt for the best of Rum & Sugar’s offering in its sharing platters: there’s the Museum, Docker’s, Wharf or Milligan’s Platter. You can taste a bit of history with Milligan’s Platter, which is named after Robert Milligan, a merchant and ship-owner who was the driving force behind the construction of West India Docks. The platter includes Colchester oysters with shallot vinegar and scallop wontons with a lime soya dip.
